Montrose County officials are investigating the unattended death of an infant.

14-Month-old Hailey Rocha was pronounced dead in the emergency room of the Montrose Memorial Hospital on Saturday.

The cause and manner of her death are pending results of an autopsy.
At this time, police are not revealing whether they believe there is any foul play connected with the death.
Investigators and crime scene tape remained up late into this evening at the home where the infant lived.

Close family friends tell us the young girl’s mother is still in shock tonight over the her death.

“They have lost a wonderful baby girl and as you can imagine it’s a hard time for the family,” Martha Lehith told NewsChannel Five.

We have learned more information will be forthcoming from police and the Montrose County Coroner Tuesday morning.

We will continue to follow this developing story and bring you more information on this webpage.
