The Gunnison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of two sisters found floating in a pond over the weekend.
Just after 4pm Saturday afternoon, authorities responded to a private Family Cattle Ranch located at 1977 County Road 10, three miles north of Gunnison.
Police found 4 year old Riley Tomlin and 8 year old Jade Tomlin floating unconscious in a pond.
The sisters were rushed to the Gunnison Valley Hospital.
Riley was pronounced dead at the Hospital and Jade was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Denver where she later died.
Authorities believe the deaths are accidental.
They have not confirmed if the parents will be facing any charges.
